Meeting someone at Charleroi Airport

Follow the flight on CRL Gate and turn on the email alert: it tells you 20 minutes before landing, then on landing. Park at Parking Express, at €2 per half hour and 2 minutes from the terminals.

Leaving at the right time

On the arrivals page, look at the "Expected" column and not the scheduled time on the ticket. It moves when the flight runs late. Search for the flight by number or by departure city. The person you are meeting can give you the number, which is often on their boarding pass.

The map shows whether the aircraft's position was measured or estimated from the schedule, and an estimated position tells you less than a measured one. Leave according to your driving time. If you live 40 minutes away, the 20-minute alert will come too late, so check the expected time an hour ahead and pick up your keys.

Getting the email alert

Leave your address under the flight. You get an email with a link, and the alert only starts after you click that link. Check your junk folder if nothing arrives.

After that you receive three kinds of email:

  • 20 minutes before landing
  • on landing
  • at each further 15-minute delay

We delete your address no later than 48 hours afterwards. You do not need an account. And if the person you are meeting sends you a time that differs from ours, trust the airline, which remains the reference for its flight. Our times are there to spare you a wasted trip.

Work out when to leave home

Where to park the car

The airport recommends Parking Express for collecting passengers. This open-air car park is 2 minutes from the terminals and costs €2 per half hour. An hour's wait therefore comes to €4, and an hour and a half to €6.

The machines take Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Bancontact. Pay at the machine just before walking to the car, with your passenger beside you, so you do not pay for an extra half hour.

The airport has two terminals, T1 and T2. Ask your passenger to phone you once they have their bags, so you know which terminal exit to go to.

Why your passenger comes out later than the landing

Landing time is not the time your passenger comes out. They still have to leave the aircraft, go through control, then wait for a suitcase if they checked one in. We found no published average time for Charleroi, so we will not give one.

Passengers from non-European countries also go through the European Entry/Exit System, in full use at Charleroi since 10 April 2026 according to the airport. It records their crossings electronically.

The safest guide is a message from your passenger on leaving the aircraft and another at the baggage belt. You can then wait by the car and pay for fewer half hours.
