Getting to Charleroi Airport by train, bus or car

The airport has no station: from Charleroi station the direct A1 bus takes about 20 minutes, and Flibco runs from Brussels-Midi in about 55 minutes. By car, type "Brussels South Charleroi Airport" into your satnav.

By train, then the A1 bus

Take the train to Charleroi station, called Charleroi-Sud on the airport website and Charleroi-Central in other sources. The direct A1 bus picks you up there and reaches the airport in about 20 minutes.

SNCB sells a ticket that combines train and bus. You buy it at belgiantrain.be, and the bus times are on the TEC website.

We give no price here, as the latest fare we read dates from 2023 and would not help your budget. Look on the SNCB website before you buy, and leave some margin on the first bus if your flight leaves very early.

With Flibco, from Brussels and other cities

Flibco leaves Brussels-Midi station from 3:30, about every 30 minutes according to the airport. CheckMyBus gives 55 minutes for the fastest journey, and traffic can lengthen it. The coaches set passengers down close to the terminals.

The airport advertises tickets from €5, but comparison sites show much more on most departures. Check the price for your date on flibco.com before deciding.

Flibco also serves the airport from Bruges and Ghent, with nine shuttles a day, and from Lille, Luxembourg and Metz. Leave a margin for the road, since your coach shares the motorway with the cars.

Work out when to leave home

By car

Type "Brussels South Charleroi Airport" into your satnav. If it cannot find that, enter the address the airport gives: rue d'Heppignies, 6043 Ransart.

The N568 runs along the airport. Sofico opened roadworks there on 28 September 2026, over about two kilometres, with diversions and a closed roundabout in October. The bypass between Fleurus and the airport stayed open. Check the traffic when you set off.

Away for several days? If you are using a private car park, enter its own address, shown on its page. You reach the terminal on its free shuttle, without passing the airport's car parks.

What time to arrive

The airport asks you to be there about 2 hours before departure, and 3 hours during school holidays and busy weekends. Check-in desks open at least 2 hours before the flight and close 40 minutes before.

Add whatever your journey needs on top. At a private car park, count leaving the car and the shuttle. The car parks ask you to arrive at least 2 hours before the flight, and they open at 4:00, so a 6:00 flight leaves you no margin.

On strike or demonstration days the airport has already asked travellers to allow more time to get there, as it did on 7 October 2026.
