Ryanair and Wizz Air at Charleroi: terminal and baggage

At both Ryanair and Wizz Air, the free bag measures at most 40 x 30 x 20 cm and goes under the seat. The airport has two terminals linked on foot, so check yours on your boarding pass or on the screens.

Two terminals, five minutes on foot

The e-Parking plan shows two terminals, T1 and T2. The magazine Travel Extra, in a guide from September 2025, describes T1 as the main building, with the desks and an upstairs food court. T2 is five minutes away on foot and has only two cafes.

The same guide says Ryanair operates from T1, with desks 1 to 20, and also uses T2 at peak times. We found no source on Wizz Air's terminal, and these assignments can change from day to day. Go by your boarding pass and the day's screens, above all if you are dropping someone off.

Cabin bags at Ryanair

All Ryanair fares include a small personal bag of 40 x 30 x 20 cm, which must fit under the seat in front of you. One of the airline's help pages gives another size for Priority customers' small bag: 40 x 25 x 20 cm. If your bag is close to these figures, measure it before leaving.

The 10 kg cabin bag is a paid option with priority boarding, and measures at most 55 x 40 x 20 cm. An oversized bag is refused at the gate, or put in the hold for a fee.

These rules come from Ryanair's pages read on 31/10/2026. The airline can change them, so reread them with your booking.

Cabin bags at Wizz Air

Wizz Air includes a free cabin bag of 40 x 30 x 20 cm, up to 10 kg, to go under the seat. The difference from Ryanair is the stated weight, as Wizz Air writes 10 kg for this small bag.

The 55 x 40 x 23 cm trolley bag, up to 10 kg, is only available with the WIZZ Priority option, chosen when booking. Wheels may add up to 5 cm. Beyond these sizes, Wizz Air charges a fee.

If you fly both airlines on one trip, go by the tighter measure: 55 x 40 x 20 cm for the cabin case, which saves you paying at the gate.

Desks, liquids, animals

The airport says desks open at least 2 hours before departure and close 40 minutes before. It asks you to arrive about 2 hours ahead, and 3 hours during busy periods.

Its FAQ reminds travellers that liquids over 100 ml are banned in the cabin. It also states that animals are not allowed in the cabin or hold on Ryanair and Wizz Air flights, apart from guide dogs for visually impaired people.

For the hold, we give no weight or price here, as we could not read both airlines' current pages. You will see them when adding a bag to your booking.
