Dozens of cars parked along Avenue Jean Mermoz, in the Gosselies business park right next to the airport, were vandalised on the night of 18 to 19 October or on the Monday morning, according to La DH. Windows were smashed to search the cars, rims and tyres taken, number plates removed.
The paper suggests, without confirming it, that some of these cars belonged to travellers who park on the street to avoid paying for a car park. Nothing has been said so far about an investigation or an arrest.
If you are leaving your car for several days, choose a fenced and supervised car park. On the street, leave nothing visible inside.
