Skeyes strike: 42 flights cancelled at Charleroi on 23 September

23 September 2026

BSCA expected 42 flights cancelled on Wednesday 23 September, 12 in the morning and 30 in the evening, and about 14 others delayed or moved. Skeyes air traffic controllers at Charleroi had stopped work every night from 22:00 to 8:00 since 16 September, with notice running to 10 October.

According to the airport, more than 200 flights had already been cancelled, and the total could reach 322. The controllers want the same night bonuses as at Liège. Skeyes offered an extra €10,000 gross per year from 2028.

A refund or another flight is down to your airline. Air Journal notes that such a strike may rule out compensation, but meals and hotel are still owed.
