Reduced mobility: parking at Charleroi Airport

Before booking, one point to check: the shuttles at our five car parks do not carry a person seated in their wheelchair. The airport advertises reserved spaces on every floor of P1 and at Parking Express, and assistance at the airport is free.

Where to park

The airport states that there are spaces for people with reduced mobility on every floor of P1 and at Parking Express.

  • Parking Express: open-air, 2 minutes from the terminal, €2 per half hour. Suitable for dropping off or collecting someone
  • P1: covered, 5 minutes from the terminals according to the access page, 2 minutes according to e-Parking

The pages read on 03/11/2026 give neither the number of spaces nor how to book them. For a long stay at P1, ask e-Parking for confirmation on 071 92 28 50 (€0.12 per call, plus the cost of the call).

The shuttles at our five car parks

Their FAQ is clear: the shuttles cannot carry people in their wheelchairs. If the person can sit in a standard seat, transport remains possible, and the wheelchair travels with the luggage.

If this transfer is not possible, these car parks are not suitable without another solution. Call them before booking to describe your situation: Fast Park +32 470 90 80 60, Flyparking +32 487 26 50 51, Jet Park +32 479 99 98 84, Aeropark and Charleroi Low Cost +32 71 110 887.

Assistance at the airport

When travelling by air, European law provides for:

  • free assistance at the airport and on board
  • a request to be made preferably at least 48 hours before departure, to the airline, the ticket seller or the tour operator
  • free carriage of 2 pieces of mobility equipment

Regulation 1107/2006 sets the time to present yourself when the airline has not given one: no later than 1 hour before departure at check-in, or 2 hours before at a designated point.

If the help was not requested in time, the airline must still try to assist you. For any question, the airport refers you to its contact form, subject "Service PMR".

The order to prepare in

1. Request assistance from your airline, at least 48 hours before departure. 2. Choose the car park according to the transfer possible: P1, or a private car park if a standard seat will do. 3. If someone close to you is driving, stopping at Parking Express lets them accompany you to the terminal. 4. Allow 2 hours of margin if you present yourself at a designated point.
